If so, were they available before the job market was hot also?
Just need to find 2 like minded people to share 1 job.
with twice the benefits? Id rather it be two jobs.
You can just arrange it as 1 job from the group's persepctive.
We have several people do this as a bridge to retirement in our multisite practice E.g., three guys get together and agree to have two people on the schedule each day. Or two docs get together and agree to have one of them on the schedule each day plus periodically pick up per diems when we are short. They work out their own schedule and get it to the scheduler well in advance.A couple of people I know retired and made arrangements for 1 week (5 days) a month at a children’s hospital. They work for a week of days and then take 3 weeks off.
Our hospital has a per diem option for MDs and CRNAs that some take as a bridge to retirement. There is some minimum target, 50 or 60 days. No benefits, except malpractice.
I get the feeling that most of these are crappy little hospitals run by an AMC. Home call but not a lot of call ins but nonetheless wears you out over time. Most 2 weeks on 2 weeks off jobs are around 450k plus full healthcare. No vacation since u get 26 weeks off.
U will work a lot those 2 weeks. Like 8 overnight in house calls Around 130 hours those two weeks with lots of all in house calls. And u won’t sleep much those nights. That’s the price to pay for time off. But u get 26
Weeks off
Actually these are two major trauma centers that offer night shift jobs 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off One is university affiliated and another is AMC run.I get the feeling that most of these are crappy little hospitals run by an AMC. Home call but not a lot of call ins but nonetheless wears you out over time.
