Are there any D.O. schools that have SMPs which offers a direct admission to their medical school?

I'm applying to D.O. schools this cycle and so far I've just been waitlisted post interview to one school. I want to prepare and have a back up plan just in case things don't work out this cycle. Do any D.O. schools have special master programs that offer a direct admission to their school upon completion of the program? And if so, is it too late to apply this cycle for said programs?

By "direct," do you mean everyone in the program gets into the school automatically? I don't think that's a thing.

As to your second question, I did an SMP and because of when I took my MCAT, I applied in late February and was somehow accepted. So it's probably not too late. If you choose to do it, you should probably get your apps in pretty quickly though.

I remember seeing a couple of threads on SDN some time ago talking about certain SMPs that allow you to automatic matriculation to medical school (D.O. schools) if you maintain a certain a GPA while in the program. I can't find it anymore but I was hoping someone could provide me with the link or something lol.

BCOM

Off the top of my head:

LECOM

The rest, AFAIK, have some sort of guaranteed interview if you do well in the program:

PCOM
TUNCOM
Touro-CA
my own school
Western

It is not too late to apply for SMPs for starting fall 2016.

LECOM

To the best of my knowledge, the post-bacc at LECOM doesn't guarantee admission to the DO program, but it does help a lot.

I remember from the interview trail that AZCOM had some sort of guaranteed interview program for their SMP or post-bacc (I forget which). PCOM-GA does as well (a friend of mine started their program but ended up getting admitted to a DO school elsewhere instead).

Let me add that my LECOM post-bacc classmates are supremely well prepared in their 1st year classes. They have seen a lot of the material we face in MS1, they are familiar with the peculiarities of faculty and institution, and they generally seem to lead our class in many ways. If I had life to do over again and the resources to swing it, knowing what I know now, I might have headed for the post-bacc program first. If you are going to go post-bacc somewhere, seriously consider LECOM. It will give you a fantastic chance at a seat there, as well as a preview of the school and its environment without having to make a full 4 year commitment.

I believe many post-bac students are given a courtesy interview at TCOM. They enjoy a tremendous advantage in 1st year, but the advantage soon dissipates as regular students figure out the system and catch up to them.

Touro Harlem/Touro Middletown has one. You have to maintain a 3.5 gpa and get a 70+ on the end of the year COMP. About 60% people in the program fulfill these requirements and enter the DO program. Somewhere on this website, it was said people had 18 mcats and ended up doing this program and were top of their class as a DO once they passed all the requirements. Their deadline closes around April. A lot of n=1s as posters on this website like to say. Apparently a few of these "teen" MCATs ended up matching into high tier residencies like Mayo/Cleveland Clinic.

I've heard of the PCOM Bio Masters but I think it only guarantees an interview if you reach their bench mark for GPA and MCAT.

LECOM has one too. I think it's 3.0 in Med school 1st year classes and like a 24 on the MCAT.

NSU has a Master of Biomedical Sciences program. If you get an 80% in every class in that program you are accepted to the next year's class. I found out about this a couple years ago so you might want to double check with the program to see if they still offer this type of admission.
