I know for premedical students literature such as "In Stitches" and "House of God" are available. I'm curious if there are any books one would advise a predent to read to get perspective on the career of dentistry.

Thanks, i may just read some of the goosebumps books. I'm beginning to think that the life of dentists and dental students aren't present in literature or television in a significant way.

Maybe check out the bible, it's one of the best sellers of all time.

I would read for pleasure before the craziness of school begins.

Or, for interviews, keep an eye on JADA maybe. Always nice to have issues to discuss in interviews.

Fifty Shades of Gray...err

I read a little bit of The Excruciating History of Dentistry by James Wynbrandt.

Making a seks guide from 10 years of Cosmopolitan magazine.

For dentistry check out:
The Excruciating History of Dentistry

For life/business management:
The E-Myth Revisited
The Little Red Book of Selling
How to Win Friends and Influence People
Good to Great
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

Trust me, you will want some business/management/sales knowledge, you won't get any in d-school. These books are a great place to start.
