Hello, I'm buying business casual attire for classes in a few weeks. I was wondering if these pants are considered business casual since the pockets on the back are bigger. Thanks for any help or feedback!

I would say yes, these are business casual

If they aren't Jeans, Cargo pants, or something you consider comfortable on a saturday morning playing Halo, then they are likely business casual.

This would be that.

Thanks! I was a little concerned since all the business casual pants I've seen had back pockets like these:

No one will be checking your butt out enough in class to check the pocket size to match dress code. And if they are, I do believe we have a valid HR complaint.
Edit: Schools don't have HR....Whatever, y'all know what I mean.

Dude, you’re overthinking this. The professors and administrators at your medical school have better things to do than to obsess over the location of the pockets on your pants. The pants look business casual, so they’re business casual. Case closed.

In about 3 months we might have had a "HELP! Kicked out of Medical School for Unprofessional Back Pockets!" Thread.

Crisis Averted. 😀

“I was keeping up with the material and passing my exams, but then I was dismissed for unprofessionalism after the academic dean inspected my ass and discovered that I had pockets on the back of my pants. The disciplinary committee rejected my appeal and told me I was a ‘little slag’ and a ‘disgrace not only to the medical profession but also to humanity as a whole.’

Does anybody know of any podiatry or PA programs that have relaxed pocket policies?”

Go to walmart, buy a 4 pairs of khakis (2 beige, 1 black, 1 grey), 3 polos, 3 short sleeved button ups, 3 long sleeved button ups. Boom, outfits covered for the year!

I got these already on sale at the store. I assumed they were business casual since they werent jeans so I assumed they were khakis. But after getting back home and seeing what khakis pockets look like, I wasnt sure if they were acceptable anymore so I made this thread.

There’s nothing wrong with these at all.

Btw, places like Marshall’s, Kohl’s, Old Navy, and Ross have nice business casual stuff for men that is inexpensive and good quality.

I'm very ignorant when it comes to fashion so just trying to not stand out unnecessarily in a bad way 🙁
Ah, now you've made me feel bad. 'Twas in jest, I can assure you. I can also assure you you will be fine in medical school with such pockets. Best of luck to you!

(As long as you don't fly by the seat of your pants!😉)

Get tan and navy Ralph Lauren chinos. They are classic and will last for years. The pants you posted are styled like jeans and are too narrow. If you want further advice, feel free to message me. I am an expert on menswear. Just an obsession of mine.

This is exactly how my husband builds his work wardrobe. He does buy them at a nice menswear store though, but the above us solid advice for someone fashion averse building a new wardrobe.

Don't feel bad for asking questions, even if you find out they were somewhat silly, OP. We were all just as neurotic when we started. Soon you'll be asking, "do I really need to wear my white coat for that?"
