I interviewed at an unaccredited college today. They told me the total cost of the program was 35K.

Is this typical of unaccredited programs?

I feel kind of worried because it's so cheap...Like something must be wrong.

Was it instate?

Typically public instate is way cheaper than the others.

Idk anything about unaccredited status.

One of the private unaccredited school that i interviewed at was 135k just for tuition.

I would say it's hard to say unless you are comparing programs from the same geographical area.

Your best bet to put your mind at ease would be to find "developing" programs across the nation on AOTA's website and compare the tuition costs. You could also compare developing and accredited programs in the same geographical region to find your answer.

But the short of it is yes the tuition does appear abnormally low, especially for a private institution. However, I live in Southern California so my perspective on costs is most likely skewed.

It was Cox college, which I'm pretty sure is private.

Should I be worried?

Well its not for profit (i think) so you should be able to get all the govt loans not available to for profit institutions.

It being in "Candidacy Status" lets them start classes and an issue that may arise would be fieldwork placements. There are schools that have issues with that many years in.
