Hello! I am a pre-physical therapy student actively working on my undergrad. I absolutely want to be a therapist in the military, but I was hoping to become one through the military (for assistance with tuition and all that jazz). And I am very interested in the Army-Baylor PT program. I've read quite a bit about it but I would love to hear any tips or personal experiences anyone has had with it.
Thank you very much!

Hey! I just went through the PTCAS process and am starting at the Medical University of SC next month. I was advised by administrators at Army Baylor not to wait out on starting school if you don't get in there but you get in other places. However, I have also been told most people do not get in on their first try. I ended up accepting a direct commission into the Army Reserve medical service corps and I intend to add the MOS PT designation once I graduate. Definitely go for it and give it your best shot but don't get caught up in it if you don't get in. There are so many other opportunities out there and public student loan forgiveness will pay off your loans in 10 years if you follow through with working for the govt/DOD/military. My intention is to work at a military treatment facility either on base or with the VA until an AD slot opens up. I'm hoping my prior military experience from being enlisted during undergrad and direct commissioned as health care admin will be valued if I'm able to pursue an AD slot. (I also did ROTC but there was some sort of paperwork error which is why I ended up direct commissioning.) Definitely go for the tour. It was worth it to see the space and meet professors etc. One of the consolations to me was I at least still get to serve, just not the direct avenue I planned. The military is going to need more PT's soon and Baylor doesn't have the room to expand which is going to mean they need a whole lot more non Baylor PT's. Also the Reserves has A LOT of tuition reimbursement/student loan repayment options... never hurts to talk to an amedd recruiter. They can tell you what other doors are out there.

Thank your for the information and reply!
I just met with the ROTC department at my college and was given the same advice about the Baylor program. I do plan on applying anyway just to try it out. But thank you for mentioning the loan forgiveness options, I did not even think of that as an option!
