I thought I'd start a thread just for tips on getting best deals on plane tichets, etc. Here is my 2 cents: it turns out that if you register with Orbitz with an e-mail address ending with .edu, they will automatically check regular fares AND student fares as well; so, on average, you get a better deal than with expedia or travelocity. There is also another website that deals specifically with student fares- www.statravel.com. Maybe also worth it to check it out when arranging interview travel...
