Hi everyone. I'm a 2nd yr dental student and I was recently arrested for possession of marijuana. This record cannot be erased but can only go to trial to see outcome. The fine is a disorderly persons offense non criminal but does have a criminal record. Has anyone been arrested while in school? No pre debts please. Did u report it to your school? What did u say to boards for license? Will I be kicked out of school?????!?!?

Don't really know whether it will play a problem for licensing. Although if I were you, I would take whatever rehab class or something like that. (I know you have your stuff under control and aren't an abuser). That will look good on paper showing the boards that you remedied the problem and can serve as some sort of documentation.

For school, I'm not sure. I think your school might put you on some sort of like disciplinary probation, which is basically like a warning not to do it next time. I don't think you will get kicked out. I know one girl at our school got a DUI and was booked for it, and she is still at school no problem. I would check your school handbook and look at what the policy is regarding this. I think you might have to report it (if you don't report it and they find out, then you might actually get in trouble) and when you do tell them about this make sure you tell them you are going to sign up for some class 'to get help and remedy the problem' so they see you taking action and again to serve as documentation.

Hope this work well for you. Marijuana needs to be legalized ASAP. Too many bright ppl's lives getting ruined. Good luck

Thanks for the support! Yeah the policy is that we have to report everything and what I understand so far is i need to enrol myself in drug testing and I guess some sort of rehab class.
