I know this is very program specific but I was wondering if people could give a basic rundown of their week - hours wise and also how call works. I'd be curious how much variation there is with programs or how it changes as you become a more senior resident. Thanks:p

On wards, a lot, 6 days/week, close to 80 hrs/week easily. Clinic, not too bad.

yeah average about 80 hours / week, 8 months on floor, between icu , general q3-4 call schedules

30-100. pick a place where you like the people you are around. it will make all the difference.

Hours matter a LOT and will vary quite a bit from program to program. Mine has 2 bad months (70-90 hours), 8 medium (60-70 hours) and 2 cush (40-50 hours). I take call 9 months of the year (average q6) and have one month of night float, one of ER, and one call-free month.
