Hi all!

These are the two schools I’ve been considering: ASDOH and Creighton.

I’ve done all the research I can from their sites and vlogs on YouTube to figure out which is the better choice and am now throwing it out on here to get different perspectives. I live closer to Creighton, but have lived in Florida before and am comfortable with heat that comes along with Arizona. I’m a fan of both locations and programs. Just hoping someone has different thoughts about either.

Any advice or pros/cons you guys can toss my way is all appreciated!

Thanks!

As a student who had a few options with these two in the running and ultimately choosing one of these schools, I chose the school I felt like I could thrive at. Look at the price, look at requirements, ask students if they are happy, Look at the areas around the school to live, do you like one more than the other? Do you want to stay in the area or be open to staying?

I made pros and cons charts for the schools I was accepted to and ultimately waited until the last minute to submit my deposit to one school.

Hi all!

It’s a little early (by 10 days!), but these are the two schools I’ve been considering: ASDOH and Creighton.

1. wait until you have been accepted to one or both before beginning to consider
2. cheapest...

Realistically, I wouldn’t mind the decision being made for me with only one of their acceptances.

Are you happy with your selection? Do you wish you would have chosen differently?

I am also debating on both. What I have totaled so far:

ASDOH
- 100,000 a year for tuition, realistically would be 120-130 including living
- externships are dope, can practice all around the us in underserved locations
- Meza AZ is kind of in the middle of nowhere, although its in phoenix its definitely not in the middle of a city
- HEAVY focus on being a rural gen dentist, seems like talking about specializing is a no no
- heavy focus on clinical experience/ requirements
- focus on whole person care which is cool

Creighton
-81,899 a year for tuition
- Omaha is much cheaper than phoenix
- omaha is also a con, the city is kind of dull
- heavy focus on clinical experience
- heavy requirements for clinical work
- new and gorgeous building, maybe the nicest school i've been to
- great camaraderie between students

Thanks for spelling out your opinion on these. I am leaning towards Creighton more than ASDOH - if I get accepted to both/either. I feel both offer similar program offerings. I think the 4th year rotation at ASDOH sounds like great experience. I wonder how the class sizes play into the whole situation.

Class sizes aren’t as big of an issue I don’t think between these schools. Creighton is around 115, I’m unsure about ASDOH but it’s probably around there. Unless it’s like Creighton and Harvard where it’s 155 vs. 35 then I think that makes a bigger difference. However Creightons clinic program is really good, if general dentistry is a passion of yours they have one of the best programs. No residencies mean you get to perform much more complex procedures. Definitely something I’m interested in.

Some days are going to be better than others. I’m really glad I chose where I am at now. If you have any questions, you can DM me!
Thank you! I tried to DM you, but it’s restricted. Just received AADSAS change to “offer made”. Looking to connect!
