Anyone else get this email recently:

Subject: An Important Message From SUNY Downstate COM

Dear LucidSplash

Thank you for your application to SUNY Downstate Medical Center. We are writing
to you because our records show that your application is complete, but that you
have not received any notice on the status of your application as yet.

At SUNY Downstate, we do not use a computer to review applications. Each
application is read individually, and as you might expect, this is a time
consuming process. At this time of year, it is not unusual for the Committee to
be backlogged. If you have not heard from us, rest assured that your application
will be read, and you will receive a letter about your status from the
Committee.

If you are currently enrolled in college, you should send us a photocopy of your
fall semester grade report (not a transcript), when it becomes available. You
may always email [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns
about your application status or wish to update us on information pertaining to
your application.

i dont know about backed up part, cuz i was rejected the day after my completion letter. so your is better than a rejection :)
 
I got this same "important message" letter from Downstate, was complete around the end of October. Not sure what it means.
