Was anyone else torn between saving $200 and adding another school or two to their application? I have 10, which should be fine based on my numbers (Illinois resident too), but did anyone just decide to drop the money for peace of mind?
I did. My stats were great but I wasn't sure what school I wanted to go to. If you have a strong interest in the school/location/whatever, you'll regret not applying. If it's a "safety school" that you wouldn't go to, don't do it.

Am I able to request for evaluation letters after I e-submit my application?

Is there a place where I can take a look how the Application Coversheet may look like?

Right within the application itself there is an option. It's literally just a list of exactly what you marked down.

Anybody ever have your AP credits messed up by an institution? Luckily I looked at my official transcript from my first college and they have Composition I listed twice instead of I & II. My other transcript has it listed as Written Communication I & II . I'm going to call the registrar tomorrow and see if they will fix it but I'm wondering since one of my transcripts has ENC 1101 and ENC 1102 if technically AADSAS should recognize I have AP credit for both English courses? Or am I screwed unless the first college fixes it and resends an updated transcript?

Protip: If you have more than one official transcript make sure you look at both! I almost cheaped out and just looked at the one.

So I transferred credits for Chemistry I and II and Physics I and II from High School. My transcript has those classes as Transfer Hours at the very beginning. How should I put this in my Course work and what term should I state this? Thanks.

Are they specified as Chemistry I and II and Physics I and II? It just says "Transfer Hours?" If they aren't listed, there's no way for a dental school to know those were actually for chemistry and physics and not like economics and history. I don't think you can put them if they aren't specified. Sorry 🙁 See if they're specified on your official transcript.

They are specified as College Chemistry I, College Chemistry II, Physics I and Physics II and are 4 credit hours each.

Oh good! Just type them in like that. Put them in your first university semester, designate them as AP, and for the grade put CR for credit

Awesome. Thanks. My heart sank in there for a second thinking I would have to take those classes again.

If I'm done with the primary application, I don't have to check off these questions correct since I haven't received the supplemental application.

Dental School Admission Checklist
If required by the dental school, did you...

  • Submit a supplemental application and fee directly to the dental school?
Arrange for Canadian DAT scores to be sent directly to the dental school?

If I'm done with the primary application, can I send it? Don't I receive the supplemental applications in my email AFTER I send in my primary one? Or do I have to send schools the supplemental application fee first? Or can I totally ignore these questions and just submit?

Yes, submit it firs. Then you will do your secondaries. They will all need your AADSAS number anyway to match your secondary with your application.

what if you repeated an honors courses? It won't let me choose both repeated and honors.

I have a question about the English requirements... My small, (slightly) religious school did not require us to take specifically English classes, but did require two "writing-intensive" courses.
However, my writing courses were in a bio class (obviously would list under bio) and philosophy (which is not listed on the AADSAS Course Subjects Guide). I did have to take theology as well, one of which studied the New Testament, but wasn't specifically labeled as "Bible Lit" (which is allowed as English in the AADSAS list).
Can I list the philosophy and theology classes as english? Did anyone run into issues fulfilling the English requirements, or did everyone take classes simply labeled as English and didn't have to think about this lol

I talked to a school about this. I also had writing intensive courses and not "English" classes. . Don't list them as English because AADSAS will probably change them. Hopefully, they are designated as "writing intensive" on your transcript and this should be sufficient for most schools. That's what the admissions representatives of a few of my schools told me.

Do schools really dislike when you're applying to more than one professional program (eg medicine)? I know it's a question on AADSAS, and I'm just curious how much emphasis they put into this.

They take this very, very seriously. Why would they waste time/money on an applicant that isn't 100% committed to the field?

Ya, that makes sense. I put that I had applied to X school in the past (I applied in 2015 cycle for September 2016 start - rejected). Did not put that I'm applying to any professional programs this year, just in the past. Would this be an issue?

Question about the FAP here. I'm sending the Financial Aid Verification Form and I am 101% sure that they made an error. It says they want my 2014-2015 SAR... http://www.adea.org/uploadedFiles/G...ADSAS-FAP-Financial-Aid-Verification-form.pdf How come? In the fafsa website you can only see the one for this year (2016-17) and the previous (2015-16). How am I gonna get something that old?. I wasn't even in a 4-year school in that school year. I can't email them because they respond a week later. So, do you think if I send this year and the previous SAR I will be fine?

I was able to get my financial aid record date back to 2009 by requested it from the school. But you can also access your financial record on your school account.

I think the application asks have you ever applied, meaning the past included. Don't lie about it but it can't hurt you if you're 100% committed and can convey this clearly.

I don't have a student account anymore in there. I was in a community college that year. But, why would they want that?

It's an error I emailed them and they told me they want 2015-2016 info

I took a full year physiology course (fall+winter) which counted as 6.0 credit and received an A-. How should I put this grade in aadsas application?

Here is how it looks like in my transcript:
Physl210A (fall)
Grade: IP(in progress)
Credit: 0.0

Physl210B (winter)
Grade: A-
Credit:6.0

There is no option in aadsas for IP. How should I enter this? Would they fix any problems after I submit my transcript?

how do you report duel enrollment courses on the coursework section? I took college algebra while in high school.

Ok, good to know... I would assume this isn't exactly a unique issue, but I also don't really see many people freaking out about it on this thread so maybe not?
Luckily I'm not applying until next cycle, just stalking these threads to see if there's anything I should be looking out for, so maybe I'll call AADSAS once the craziness dies down to confirm. Thanks for your help!!

QUESTION:
Can I put that I am a hair donor under volunteer? I don't have any physical contribution, only donating my hair. I have other EC, but would like to know if I should add this or not.

I'm going to say no

Well, worst case scenario, if your classes don't count, you can take 2 more English classes before matriculation, either through your undergrad or maybe online/at a CC. That's not usually one of the stricter requirements like biology or chemistry. I wouldn't worry 🙂

Could you kindly explain why please?
It's not volunteering. You got a haircut. It's not that impressive and doesn't really show anything about you. I'm sure you have better activities to put. I've donated my hair a few times. It's nice to do, but you wouldn't put down that you gave money to charity so don't put this.

I've donated money to homeless people. Not like I'm going to list that as volunteering.

For the personal statement, After we write it when I transfer it from Word to the box they give you, the indentations disappear. Is that okay? Everything looks quite crammed

Yes, indentations aren't allowed.

Should I put a space between each paragraph? I hit the 4500 limit, wouldn't the extra space in between each a paragraph count?
I had to trim so much fat to get it down to this size, wish they would just let you upload documents -_-

If I have only two major things in some of the sections should I just put those two or should I add a third even though it was very minor. Basically is quality or quantity better in this case since this will be the first thing the admissions committee will see.

Thanks

Definitely put a space between each paragraph, and yes it would count as a character. Very odd system they have.

Quality>quantity.

I have three individual letters of recommendations? Is having a Committee letter better than individual ones? And should I go ahead and add 1 more individual LOR to make it 4 total?

I just want to make sure, i'm currently training in Muay Thai and BJJ, can i put those in the Extracurricular/Volunteer/Community Service?

Use the committee if your university offers one. Otherwise, letters are fine. There are many threads on this subject if you use the search function and you can read many people's opinions on the matter

:/ how do you report duel enrollment courses on the coursework section? I took college algebra while in high school.

Yeah sorry about that, someone sent me a private message saying I couldn't.
Extracurricular activities are activities you do outside of your school curriculum. If that's what you do, then you can put it on your application. If some stranger told you no and I as a stranger told you yes, then you'll have to make your own judgment call.

Posted a thread then I saw this, maybe you guys know the answer.

I received an A in an introductory theology class at my university in the US. Later on, I did study abroad in Peru, which had a required course list and required the same theology class in order for me to attend the campus in Peru. So I have a class I have taken twice, received an A both times, the second time in Peru. Do I list it as a retake or as study abroad?

On a related note, do I need transcripts from my study abroad school in Peru? I am under the impression that since it was through my university that I don't need that.
