After you pay, its like an hour or two to process into AADSAS.

I entered the info, paid via interfolio, shows as completed all on 6/1/16.
 
Are the classes that you designate as "other-sciences" when entering classes on AADSAS, are those calculated into the science GPA? And is there a way to enter more then two majors on the application? I heard that if you are minoring in something, then you put that in the major section as well. I have added on another minor, but I can't put that on there because they only ask for two majors. Is there another way of putting that on the application?

Other sciences do count into your sgpa. I think most people don't list their minors.

Thanks! And I thought of that as well, so I called up AADSAS last year to ask them if I would be able to list my minors and they told me to list my minor as the second major.

I have no idea. I would like to know that as well because the application only allows you to list 2 majors. So since you are a double major, I guess you will only be able to list those two and not your minor because they don't give you extra room to list that. Since I have 1 major and 2 minors, I guess I'll only be able to list my major and one of the minors.

Wait, there IS a place to list your minor...? I only see "major" and "second major" in the application.

The person I spoke too over the phone at AADSAS told me to list my minor as the "second major" even though it's not a major. I just followed what he said.
 
There is no real place to list a minor. I had one major and a couple minors and I only listed the major. Unless it's something really cool, it probably won't even matter. Many, many people will have a minor in chemistry 😉

BCP is basically sgpa without the other-sciences in it(math, geology etc etc). I think it depends on the school whether they look at it separately or not.
 
Can students mail extra letters of recommendation from teachers if we already sent out our primary application? I had 2 science, 1 nonscience, and 1 dentist, but my pharmacology teacher wrote me one and I would like to send it to schools via paper mail. What's the popular opinion on this?

Some schools allow it, others do not.
 
I have been a Treasurer (2012-2014) and an Executive VP (2014-2016) for a student group. Do I list this separately in my extracurricular section? or put them in the same section?
 
Does the disadvantaged essay have to be like the Personal Statement or can it be like 1000 characters?

I'd do two separate entries.

That's up to you. If you can explain everything in 1,000 characters I don't see why you'd need to drag anything out.

You'll be able to see supplemental information after you submit. That looks like a decent guide that you've found.
 
Is it better to have a letter of recommendation from a general dentist or an endodontist? Should I just choose the letter from the one I know better and will write a more meaningful letter?
 
For my evaluators sections, the names stay in all capitalized letters even after I've tried re-uploading the document, a different browser, and a different computer. Any ideas on how to fix this?
May not be the biggest deal but just a detail I'd like to fix. Thanks!

Not a big deal.
 
I used interfolio to send my letters to AADSAS. When I'm reading over the pdf of my application, it says the location of all my evaluators is in Washington, DC. Is this the case for everyone using Interfolio? Do you guys think I should call AADSAS and ask them to change this? I'm not sure how big of a deal it is

I listed them and shortly described the activity, as the directions say to do. Some people just list them.

nope. the LORs are suppose to have letterheads anyway even if it is a mix up.
but you're kinda making me second guess. haha im anxious about this cycle too! 😕

I think I listed playing paintball and said "fine trigger movements and a coordinated reaction time is crucial to success in the sport". It was basic but I felt it was better than simply stating paintball.
 
QUESTION:

I have been shadowed at three different dental offices. One out of the three, I asked if I can watch the receptionist to see the business side of dentistry. While I was there, I started to did a lot paper works regarding calling for insurance claims, authorizations, scheduling, cleaning up, or laboratory pick-up/deliveries. Does this consider as shadowing or volunteering?

My LOR's uploaded within minutes when sent from Interfolio to AADSAS.

I have taken research courses for credit offered through the Dentistry department. The class title on my transcript shows up as Specialized Individual Studies. Would these be classified as Biology or Other Science?
 
Do classes like calculus and human nutrition get calculated in the science GPA for AADSAS? According to the class category sheet AADSAS provides for when you are entering your coursework, they are both considered "other science courses."

Oh and also would behavioral neuroscience be counted into my science GPA? It has the "PSYCH" prefix in the course name but according to the AADSAS class categories sheet neuroscience is considered "other science." I'm not sure haha

For research credits, I put it as other science.

No one really knows. Nothing you can do about it now, though, so no sense worrying or wondering.
