can anyone give me advice? please im thinking of sending my interviewer, who is a committee member, an email asking her my status. i already sent her a thank you card after the interview a while ago.

do you think i should do this? any suggestions of what to write? has anyone done this before?

thank you very much for help.

if you're that concerned, call the school... don't bother your interviewer

they dont say anything when i call.

my interviewer is on the committee. so i kind of wanted to remind her im very interested, like top choice more or less, and also get an update on my status.

still think i shouldnt do it? i kind of agree and thats why im having trouble actually coming up with what to write. thoughts? thanks.

i would say don't do it. your interviewers are busy people, and i doubt they want to get bugged by interviewees. if the committee has made a decision on you then you'll have to just wait, and if they haven't calling and bugging is certainly that would piss them off, and you don't want them pissed when the committee does discuss you. in short, there's little to gain and a real risk of pissing an important advocate for you off.

i'm in the same boat with my top choice. i just sent the thank you letters and a letter of intent, and now i must wait. it's very frustrating, but there's nothing else that can be done.

People on the interview committee are not permitted to tell applicants what their status is (at least at my school). It is handled by the admissions office sending out letters/emails etc. I wouldn't ask her.
