ATSU-COM

Pros:
-More established school
-Ultrasound curriculum
-Already paid the $1,000 deposit + signed a lease (could find someone to sublet it though)
-Low cost of living

Cons:
-More expensive (60k a year)
-Really hate kirksville
-Has less matches in Illinois (where I would prefer to do residency)
-Further from home (5.5 hours)

MU-COM

Pros:
-In a city= more opportunities like with research
- Has very nice matches in Illinois
-Closer to home (3 hours)
-Tuition is cheaper (55k a year)

Cons:
-Higher cost of living in the city
-A newer school

Would really appreciate any and all help as I am extremely conflicted!!

it seems like you prefer MUCOM, and the only thing holding you back is the fact that you already paid a deposit and that ATSU is more established. well my take is that the deposit is a drop in the bucket compared to the rest of the education (so you shouldn't worry about it) and research >> how established a school is. lastly. you're going DO either way and most PDs don't even know which ones are more established vs not for DO schools. you're the biggest factor in this, and i think whatever place that makes you most comfortable/happy will make you the most successful.
