ATSU-SOMA:
Pros:
Live in Mesa for at least a year (large city)
Three year clinical exposure (better bc now possible focus on Step 2?)
Loved it during interview day
More established (as well as its affiliation with KCOM)
Choose between cool CHC sites throughout country
Closer to home (at least for year one)
3D virtual anatomy lab (pretty cool; definitely not a a make it or break it)
Decent track record for matches
Nice facility with opportunity for interprofessional exposure (college of PT, PA, Dental, etc...)
My cousins live in Phoenix/friend of mine going to PA school there when I start DO

Cons:
Emphasis on primary care (what if I decide I like another specialty throughout med school?)
Not too sure how many away rotations I get
More expensive cost of living
Clinical sites are on a first come first serve basis (but throughout the years, there has been much movement off of waitlists)

BCOM:
Pros:
Entire 4th year is away rotations
Facility was great
Simulation lab was a nice feature
Pretty impressive first match
New Mexico only has one other medical school
The region is very accepting of BCOM and happy of its presence
Cheaper cost of living
Research
Some pretty cool cities to do clinical education (in my opinion lol)

Cons:
Some ambiguity in match results
Newer/less established school
For-profit institution (not too big of a deal - RVU is doing it big)
Tuition has been hiking up a lot in a short period of time (see point above)

Tuition is close enough to each other to the point where it doesn't really matter. Regardless, I'd want to go to a more promising school.
I also want to be able to have clinical research opportunities and have resources for resume building.

I want to thank everyone for the effort in helping me with your advice. This forum has helped me so much throughout my premed journey.

Best wishes,

ATSU-SOMA would be a smarter choice, to be honest, given the recent scandal regarding BCOM attrition rate.

BCOM shouldn't be considered as a legitimate option for the time being.

ATSU-SOMA and it isn't close.
