OMS-1 at soma here!

Not able to message you privately for some reason, but I wanted to get your overall thoughts on SOMA as I’m hearing mixed reviews about it regarding rotation sites and even board pass rates. I know they recently changed the curriculum tho so I would love to hear your thoughts about that. Please let me know

try sending a message now i think my settings were all messed up lol but so far its been okay. our class is the first year of the 2+2 structure after being previously 1+3 so there are no other SOMA students on campus besides us, and we will be here next year. regarding the CHCs, we have not been given much info on what's happening with them. they have an extra year now to figure it out before my class goes off to them so hopefully theyre going to open up some more. other than that: med school is definitely hard but manageable once you figure out a rhythm. our first block did feel a bit disorganized, but it was a foundations block that covered a ton of non-overlapping content- now we're moving into systems based which in my opinion makes learning medicine a lot easier and more interesting. faculty is really supportive on campus- always available to answer questions and have office hours every week. there are also a ton of resources available for students whether its for academic support, mental health/wellbeing, etc. which is nice to have, and the staff within them also really care about the students. i cant really speak on the board pass rates because i myself am not too sure whats happening there - just that a lot of the curriculum changes have been due to wanting to raise pass rates.

Anyone have any interview day tips? Or a general feel for the interview? I'm interviewing 11/4 so I'm a little nervous!

The interview was very laid back, group interview was funny actually, the people in my group were chill.

The faculty interview questions are super straight forward, I signed an NDA, but like, if you prepare even in the slightest, you will be fine for the interview.

Hey for those of those who have a complete application, on the portal is there a date next to "Application Completed" or just a green check? My neurotic brain is wondering if something's wrong since my LORs completed after secondary submission.

OOS A today, excited about the school. Hoping the one girl I found attractive at interview day ends up attending as well.

OOS Acceptance!!! Just got the call today 🙂 Interviewed 11/4

are virtual interviews here traditional one on one or mmi style?
