A school I interviewed for but haven't received a decision yet (UTMB) sent me an email invitation to a campus visit day. It's only for about four hours, but I'd have to fly in from out of state to attend. The email says it's an "invitation", not a requirement. Still, I'm worried that if I don't go, I'll have worse chances than someone who did, especially as this is my #1 school.
The email doesn't explicitly say how attendance factors into admissions decisions, but does attending these campus visit days hold much weight for admissions? A few other schools have sent me invitations like this, so I'm curious if they hold much water, if anything at all.
