Hey guys,

Quick question regarding interviews.

When you enter/tour the school do you button the top button of your suits or can you leave it unbuttoned?

When you sit down for interviews do you take off your blazer? Or do you leave it on and unbutton the top button?

Do you button all the suits buttons?

Ahh so many little formalities -_-

Thanks guys!😀

leave the top button buttoned and i just kept my blazer on without buttoning the buttons. way too many buttons in this sentence....

lol i'm currently studying for biochem and it's late, therefore I might be out of it... but BUTTONS!! lol if you think about it, it's a funny word and sounds really funny... looks funny too. i think i need sleep :scared:

When you are standing, you button your jacket. When you sit, unbuttoned.

For a 3 button suit, some button the middle only, some button the top and middle, some button the top only. Just never button the bottom one. ever. or else.

No one cares.

Really... no one cares.

And therein lies the secret to life.

Really???

Is it just me or are there some incredibly ridiculous threads on this forum.

Seriously, a thread about buttoning a button... WOW!

Whatever helps people feel better, I guess. They do whatever it takes to improve their chances, however infinitesimal. I just have to laugh.

agreed... after my first interview, I was surprised to find that many of the things I thought would be big no no's are apparently OK--like not wearing socks.

Yeah, not wearing socks is definitely a big no-no unless you're a girl in which case nylons.

If it's a rainy day, you need to go opposite. When you are sitting, button only the bottom button and leave the top button unbuttoned. Buttons.

i recently found out that your legs need to be about 90 degrees apart from each other, and you want to rest your hands on them, palm facing up

Yes, the 90 degree rule. I just read about that in the new york best seller "How to interview like a top med student." There was also a myriad of great ideas I had never thought of.

-Wear a bright pink shirt, and unbutton the top button. This way your interviewers are sure to remember you as they discuss previous interviewees.

- Kilts are also a game changer at med school interviews. It is mentioned that 100% of people that wore a kilt to their med school interview were accepted.

-Lastly, was the suggestion to douse yourself in copious amounts of cologne or perfume. Apparently the pheromones in "eau de toilette" positively affect the sympathetic nervous system of 95% of interviewers, thus stimulating their urge to offer you an acceptance.

Just realize these were suggestions for med school interviews, but I imagine they work just as well for Dental school. I know at my next interview I am going to be wearing a bright pink shirt with a matching plaid kilt (no underwear obviously) and I will have bathed in Hugo boss. Dec 1st Here I come!!!
