Any specific genre? If you meant academic books...don't. Don't mean academic books. Mean good books that people with hearts who can still look at puppies and smile would read.

I'm reading through the Inheritance series right now (Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr, Inheritance) and they're good.
yea the dragon story is very good but i think the author spent too much space for flowery description of scenes. he used so many advanced vocab that sometimes the story line doesnt flow as well as that in Harry Potter 🙂
I don't think it's fair to compare much of anything to Harry Potter 😉yea the dragon story is very good but i think the author spent too much space for flowery description of scenes. he used so many advanced vocab that sometimes the story line doesnt flow as well as that in Harry Potter 🙂

A Song of Ice and Fire
If you want to read fiction + teen drama + supernatural, the Lorien Legacies aren't bad. If you just want fiction + teen drama, you can read all of John Green's books (the guy who wrote The fault in our stars). If you want mystery + suspense + conspiracies, you can read books by David Baldacci or Dan Brown. If you want to read some teen drama + vampire, House of Night is okay.
I just realized the books I recommended says something about me: I'm pretty young at heart but distrustful in the head. But whatever. ^^

I read Penrod & Sam by Booth Tarkington the summer before dental school, and lmao'd. The humor is in the diction and style as much as it is the content. I also watched the full series of Scrubs for the 14th time.
haha ya, if I didn't already read the series over winter break I'd go for it againThat's my next series actually.
If you're a thriller/mystery type of person, you should read "The Winner" by David Baldacci! 🙂 The premise is pretty farfetched, but that book sucked me in REAL good.
(Not kidding though, give it a go. It's really good and still remains one of my favorite thriller books to this day.
.... But nothing trumps the magicalness of Harry Potter though!!!)

I'm a huge Stephen King fan. I'd suggest the novella "Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption" from the book Different Seasons. It's only 100 pages, even though the movie is 3+ hours. I'd also recommend "The Shining" and the sequel "Doctor Sleep". No one develops characters like Stephen King. Plus he isn't as scary as people make him out to be. He's just the master of character development.
The color purple.
I second the Game of Thrones post. (A Song of Ice and Fire)
Here's a link to one of many people's favorite excerpts from the series. The series is full of similar insight into the human condition, as well as blood&gore, intrigue, and mystery.
