So...anyone going to be in town this weekend???

I still have friends at AU and am staying with my BF, so I'll be there from Sat night through Tues morning (my flight leaves ATL at 1045 am eastern time on Tues, so I'll be leaving super early :d), and my interview is at 3 on Monday...anyone up for a meet and greet? Or going to one of the tours on Monday?

Starting to get super excited/nervous...
 
I'll be up for meeting you! I'll be here all weekend. I'd love to have someone to go on the tour with. Even though I go to school here, I've still never taken a tour of the vet school
 
I'm actually leaving town this weekend, but I'll be back by class on Monday. I get out of class at 3 so I'll have to stop by Overton to say hello and good luck to the interviewers!

Awesome! I've been a couple of times, but not on a "formal" tour or anything. Unfortunately, the only one I can go to is the 11 on Monday, since my interview's at 3 and I leave too early on Tuesday, and I'm assuming they're only doing them M-F? So if that doesn't interfere with your schedule, let me know. Otherwise, we can just meet at Toomer's or something for some lemonade 😀 And just out of curiosity, luplodw, are you living on or off campus?
 
I'm from KY and got the same email about interviews in Mid March

I'm sorry I can't go then 🙁 I have physiology lab then. I'm living just off of campus.
 
I want to wish those interviewing Monday luck! Is it just Lalzi? Is anyone else interviewing Friday?
 
I want to 2nd gilch and wish everyone who's interviewing Monday and the rest of the week, good luck. My friend will be there on Tuesday and I'll be there on Wednesday. 🙂

I'll be there on Wednesday too, and I'm fron NC as well. I'm assuming you are from nc from your name. What time is your interview?
 
My interview is at 3, so I will be there for the 11am tour as well. Im pretty non-descript, a little tall, I will be wearing a grey suit with a black ruffly blouse underneath. My name is laura, so just come up and say hi if you see me and we can do some commiserating about this whole process!😛
 
I'm interviewing Wednesday too! My interview is at 11AM though so I think I'm touring afterwards. I'm really excited to see the school and meet everyone 🙂

Well Laura, it's nice to sort of meet you already. lol. Anyways, my name is Devin. I'm pretty non-descript as well. I'll have on some nice slacks, with a gray dress shirt on and a tie. I'll probably also have my leather jacket on. If you're looking for me...I'll have my blue glasses (when I say blue i mean the frame...just in case there is any confusion). Also did anyone interview today that's on this message board? If so, how'd it go?

I did! Had my interview at 3...then went to get a milkshake, haha.

I think it went ok, I guess. No weird questions out of left field, just a couple of times I had to stop and gather my thoughts for a second, but I think that was out of nervousness more than anything else. But all my interviewers were really nice. One was really intense (don't ask me who, I'm terrible with names), but not too scary, haha.

They did say that they would be sending decision letters out NEXT WEEK 😱 Like, I should know by Friday. That threw me for a loop more than anything, just because I was planning on having to wait until at least March...

So, yeah...good luck to everyone else with all your interviews this week! :luck:

Congrats on being done with your interview and good luck!!! My boyfriend is insisting I should bring an updated resume with me to the interview, and I was wondering if you did when you went? This might be a stupid question, but this is my first interview and I'm not sure what the protocol is:/ thanks! And good luck!!!!
 
Sooooo I came down with the worst stomach bug in the world this morning and there was noooo way in heck that I was going to live through a 7 hour drive, but Auburn was incredibly accommodating and now I am interviewing Friday at 5. So I will no longer have a chance to meet all of you Wednesday people 🙁

Has anyone ever had a shot of finagrin/promethazine in the butt?

It hurts! Alot!!! But hey at least im not :barf: every 30 minutes anymore.

Thanks! I'm glad to have it over and done with...now it's just a waiting game. I didn't bring an updated resume with me, but I haven't done anything extra since I applied except take two courses that were needed for Texas A&M that I didn't take at Auburn, neither of which Auburn required. I've been working full time for the past year, so...not much to add other than updated hours, really. But, since they asked for any updated class information, I imagine that they wouldn't be averse to an updated resume. And it's definitely not a stupid question, although this is my first time applying to vet school, too, but I hope I helped! 🙂 Good luck!
 
Just had my interview. It went so well!! It was the least stressful of all the interviews i've had yet. We basically just had a conversation the whole time.

It was nice to meet you legallypink, wolfpack, and sofficat!
 
Glad to know the interviews are going well! Do you guys know why they need to see the transcript, but don't want it mailed? Is it just because I was taking 2 pre reqs last semester and they want to be sure I got Cs or above? I had understood that fall grades were not taken into account @ AU for OOS. Is this incorrect?

Does anyone know acceptance score breakdown--__% interview, __% GRE, ect?
 
I brought mine, but they never asked for it hmmmm wonder if I need to run them back up there
 
So sad I didnt get to meet all of you today... Ive spent the day in bed eating toast and sleeping. Its good to hear the interview is so relaxed though. I am excited to go to mine on Friday. How did you feel about the town in general? I have heard that a bunch of the vet school students live in a trailer park so I am not sure what to think about that haha.

you know luplodw, I hate this whole waiting thing. so I have a question....if you get into Tenn as well as Auburn, which one would you go to?
 
Well I haven't seen TN's vet school yet, so i'm not sure. Although, TN would be much cheaper for me. I'm really fortunate that my parents are paying for my school so anything is a possibility
 
That is very nice of them! For me NC is still my #1 school so if I get in there...nothing else matters. But since the future is uknown....we shall see.
 
If anyone is interviewing at Auburn tomorrow, classes are cancelled due to a winter storm warning. I'd check with the vet school to make sure interviews are still going to happen! (yes in the south they cancel classes before a flake even falls haha)
 
Kaye called me this morning and told me that it was supposed to snow 1-3 inches and that even if the school was closed that they would still be there holding interviews. Hope that helps!
 
I heard it was supposed to snow 1-3 inches earlier but now i'm hearing it will be 3-5! Wooo I love snow!! I'm sure everyone will still make it there just fine

You are my new best friend. I just got to Auburn and was told that classes were canceled--interview freakout, majorly! the south is weird.
 
I wish you all the best of luck and hopefully the snow will hold off for ya. I'm still waiting to hear from Auburn cause I'm one of the contract students. Let me know how ya do🙂 Good Luck!
 
Just got done with my interview. I have to say I was super impressed. Everything was kind of closed off bc of the snow, but from what I got to see the facilities are sooo nice. I loved Kaye, she seemed incredibally helpful. The girl that toured me was very nice and told me she had good grades but still had a life. The undergrad campus is gorgeous. I basically loved it! I think I feel the most at home there of any school I have been to so far. And I think the interview went well soooo. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Kaye said letter may go out tues or wed, but def by Friday and that both acceptances and waitlists or rejections would be in reg sized envelope.
 
It's so nice to hear all the positive feedback from everyone! Auburn really is a great school- it's not just an act everyone puts on for interviews. 😉 I felt the same way when I went up for my interview (3 years ago). When I drove away my dad and I looked at each other and he said "you belong here" and I felt the same way.
Good luck to everyone! I hope you all get accepted to your top choices, although I'm sure at this point any school will do 😉
I'll be paying attention to SDN in the next few weeks to see who will be coming to AU! This is so exciting for you all!!!
 
I liked auburn as well! The LA facilities are as awesome as rumored! I wish school had been in session so I could have gotten a better feel of the student body, but that can't be helped. Now there is just more waiting...
 
Student body was fantastic. They all seemed very friendly and loved their school. Professor/student interaction was also positive from what I observed. The professor (Dr. Hendrix) who gave my tour was amazing...very personable and funnny. It was lunch time during my tour they had a physiology test on that AM, but there were a few students around and they spoke positively and everyone was smiling. The main campus seemed quieter than I expected...but I think with the cold weather, even though classes were in session early in the week, students stayed inside. It was very quaint, I thought.

I agree the LA and SA facilities were both amazing. Much larger and buzzing with activity than I expected. Also, each class (1st year, 2nd year, etc) is assigned a lecture hall, where they stay all year. The professors rotate through the room over the course of the year. So, I would assume you would form close relationships that way.

Overall, I was also really impressed and so hope good news is coming snail mail this week!
 
I agree, Dr. Hendrix was totally awesome! Man Auburn has a special place in my heart now.

I just asked in the acceptances thread when you interviewed, should have checked here first! 🙂

I thought they were mailing letters only! I need to find my cell phone ASAP!
 
Congratulations Wolfpack87! 👍 I really hope that they start letting IS and Contract applicants know about interviews soon. I have been reading this post since it began and counting down the days till it is our turn. Once again, congrats on your acceptance!
