I'm curious to know if I should expect to hear back from AUC anytime soon. I applied with a 3.24 cumulative / 3.something science and 22 MCAT. I know my grades are above their average, but I'm curious to know how long until I can expect an answer so I can save a bunch of money on DO apps.

Also, does anyone know how AUC calculates the science GPA? Just like AMCAS? Or do they only count the "pre med" courses? (similar to Ross) What about repeats?

Which semseter are you applying for? Have you received an interview yet? If you applied for Sept., they should be getting back to you anytime now.

I applied for May 2006. Do they interview everyone now, or is it still random? How are my numbers?

I'm going to guess that the AUC ppl are currently bogged down with the Sep 05 class, and probably have started with the Jan 06 class, but probably not the class entering in May 06. I think I read on their website that you should apply "2-3 months" prior to the semester you want to start, which is kind of scary since for American schools, you are told again and again to apply a year in advance. It's great that you went ahead and applied, but I'm guessing you'll have to wait awhile for a response, but then I have no personal experience to draw from 😕

I applied for the Sept 05 class in Aug of 04 and had an acceptance in 3 weeks.

Did you have an interview? And what were your numbers like? My GPAs are both above the average posted on AUC's website, but I've read about some people being rejected when they otherwise shouldn't have been.

I did not have an interview they called me up and said congratulations your in. I have two BS degrees one in Biology and the other in Cytotechnology. The Bio degree was my 4 yr and I had a 3.5 in it. Then a few years later I went back to school for the cytotech. program. It's one year and pulled a 4.0 on it. I also have 3 years ER experience, volunteer hours, yada, yada, just like everyone else. My MCAT is horrible by the way, but for some reason they took me.
