August for complete Applications?

What would you guys say is an "early" date on which to have your application complete at all schools (including secondaries, letters, etc.)? I've heard some things which seem to be incompatible. If it's "early" to have a verified application NOW, so that you can receive secondaries as soon as they come out, then why do I hear everyone refer to late August as an early date to have your app. complete? Is it really supposed to take a month and a half to complete secondaries and get letters, or is late August actually not very early at all.

By the way...do you guys filling out secondaries now all have your letters ready??

Early for being complete is before the August MCATers have their scores. That way you get an interview before them. Obviously the earlier the better so that it doesn't conflict with the school semester.
