Is it really that detrimental for someone to take the MCAT in august and apply right after the results are in which is like in October?

If that's teh case, wouldn't it be more advisable to take the August MCAT and wait until january or so to hand in your application for the next, NEXT year admissions? Which is pretty late adn a lot of waiting though.

Unless you get a killer score, taking the August MCAT will lower you odds of getting in for next year. Beyond that, it's no problem.

You will have to wait until May to send aplications out for next, next year. You cannot do it in January.

Depends on the schools you're applying to. Look at their application deadlines and whether or not they're on a rolling admissions policy.

Remember, you're probably not getting your scores until the end of September or beginning November.

And if the schools you're still looking at is on rolling admissions.. it makes it very difficult but still possible.

Places like University of Hawaii though is still open.. if you live in Hawaii or have state connections :)

maybe it's the liquor talking, but none of you are on admissions commitees ANYWHERE! for anyone who's stressing about the process, just go for it and phu_k the bul_ shi_. all of us want to be doctors, and all of us are human, which means we fall short of perfection. do what you're capable of and be satisfied.
