Anyone else feeling burnt out? For whatever reason, I just can't get motivated to study. I pushed really hard at the end of spring semester to keep A's in physics and chemistry and since then, I have not had the drive.

Its so stupid too, I need to score well on this test. My pre-reqs will be mostly A's but I have zero pharmacy experience. Not trying to be a downer, just trying to see if anyone else has gone through this. If so, what did you do to get yourself going?

I'm burned out from studying for the June pcat. I really don't think I could have done any better, but I registered for the August test in the event that I'm not satisfied with my score.

I am not motivated either.. THAT SUCKS!!!!! but... the good thing is, we just need to suck it up for the next 2 months.. we are going to study hard and then get an awesome score on the pcat and then chill till next FALL!!! 1 yr!!!!!! so just take some off, like 1 weekend.. have fun.. go out, club/party/ do whatever u do.. and then hit the books HARD!!! U WILL BE FINE!!!!

Me too, when summer started all I could think about was how to enjoy while trying to ignore the PCAT, sadly i couldn't. 🙁 What I did was I search around and found a local clinic where i can volunteer as a pharmacy tech, which really motivated me to study when i came home. Hopefully you will find your method of motivation too. 😀

Don't know if this will help. When I don't feel like studying I go to the library and sit in the opening where I can see people. Around my area summer semester is about to end, so people are busy with assignments that professors choose to pile on at the end, others are studying for tests, and some are preparing for finals. Seeing people working toward their future motivates me to work towards mine by studying...

Just my 2 cents. Good luck in August

I'm in the exact same situation that you posted. I bought the Kaplan practice book in May and have only gotten through most of the Chemistry section, nothing else. That's almost two whole months completely wasted.

I recently realized that I should get up off my ass and head to a local library so I won't be so distracted at home, but antifreeze started leaking from my car a couple of days ago. There goes that idea. 😕

I had this experience last year. You have to fight through it. If you got mostly As, and paid attention, you shouldn't need that much study. Can I infer from your handle that you are a father? If so, being an "adult student" gives you a bit of an edge because you're likely to be more serious than the 20-year-old sophomores and juniors just blindly going through the motions. It will especially give you an edge when you go to interview. With your grades, you don't need a 99, either. An 80 should do just fine.
