Have any Canadian applicants heard yet?
Have any Canadian applicants heard yet?
We are trying not to think about it 😛
In the midst of keeping myself busy I'm taking a white water kayaking course on Sunday! I'm very excited for this. I also worked for the last 28 days straight and every evening I've been either kayaking, riding my horse, or going for a run/walk. So far, I haven't gone crazy.
I can't wait to see this thread blow up when Canadian acceptances go out 🙂
I was doing so well! Now I'm going crazy with the waiting!
Haha I am trying so hard to hold it together and keep myself occupied at least until the end of this week. Easier said than done though! Good luck to everyone😀
I got accepted!!! I still can't believe it... it hasn't sunk it yet 😀 I've been dreaming of this day since I was 12 years old.
I'll be joining you! I got in!!!!
ACCEPTED!!! Congratulations to everyone can't wait to meet you all in August!! 😀
Woo! We'll have to do a massive SDN meet-up when you all get here! 😀
Anyone know of any private or commercial stables with a stall or pasture space? What do horse owners do with their horses?
A huge congratulations to all of my classmates. I look forward to meeting all of you!

Has anyone thought about banking? For the internationals at least that is. I was planning on opening a student checking account once I arrive, but the Simple banking app/platform is piquing my interest...it basically eliminates the need to go to the bank! Not sure if there would be any international fees incurred from Canada though.
Congratulations everyone!!! I'm so excited to meet you as classmates 🙂
Does anyone know of names of apartment buildings near UPEI (aside from Browns Court) that house other students? I keep looking on Kijiji, but I'm mostly finding houses.
Thanks 🙂
If you're dead set on a complex, there are some in Stratford. I briefly looked at Duck's Landing, I think thats what it's called. Not sure if any students live there as it was definitely pricey. It's not within walking distance to campus either.
My friend who is at AVC recommended TD Bank. They have a Canadian branch, so you can open both an American and a Canadian account and transfer money between them without fees. Plus it only takes something like 24 hours for the money to transfer between accounts, whereas other banks can take up to 5 days. This is what I plan on doing, since it will be easy for my mom to just deposit money into my American account (she's helping me with living expenses) and then I can access it whenever I need to.
Most of the available apartments seem to be in buildings/houses with multiple other apartments all owned by the same landlord. I wouldn't really call it a complex, but you likely wouldn't be the only student there.
I can do a 10k, not half or full. I'm a weiner.
I can do 1k...how about I make some signs and cheer you guys on? 😛
