Err... I joined a clinic as a part time dentist immediately after doing my internship as I had some time to kill.

I used to work from 5:00pm to 9:00pm and I got about Rs3000 .i.e 66$/month or roughly 800$ per annum. lol Howz that? :) :) :) Seriously speaking, this condition is only for Fresh Graduates who would like to have some experience before they open up their own clinic or study further

However, if you have your own clinic, I guess it can come anywhere b/w 8000$/annum to30,000$/annum...which is pretty decent for a country where you can get 5 bottles of Coke for a Dollar whatyasay?

Hey meetlife..
I was just checking out a few college websites...they had placement forums or something like that where graduates willing to work the whole day including part time on saturdays were being offered 70,000/annum...i.e Rs 35lakhs approx

Howwzat?

I am not sure about the average in the UK......but I earned between ?9,500 to ?11,000 per month.
Depends how hard you work and if the business is thriving.
This is for a 6 day week in Private Practice. I feel that average figures are generally not a good indication as the extremes can be quite significant. There is no real way of knowing how much YOU can earn until you start working......where ever it may be.
Good luck

Hi mrinalini
Your figures seem to be accurate.
When I did my VT it was around ?24,000 and that was in 2002.....which I felt was too low at the time.
Once this is over the jump can be considerable but remember in Practice you only take away 50% of your gross earnings......after paying the Principal and then there is lab bills etc........so to go home with a cheque for example of ?10,000 you will need to earn roughly just over ?20,000 per month.
So in essence it requires long working hours and very hard work as the fee structures are not as generous as those in the US especially if you are working within the national health system.
A Root canal on a molar upper or lower is around ?90.......$150......... NHS fees and Private is around ?300 or ?500. It may vary......
In essence if you can leave London for the US then do so....this is what I have done.
