I submitted my app on 9/1 but just recently completed the LOR's. I have heard no word either saying we have your app or offering an interview. Anyone else heard anything from the Texas programs or La, Ok, Alabama? Thanks.
 
I applied to all the Texas programs and submitted my app on 9/10. The only one I've heard from so far is Baylor.
 
I havent heard of anything but i know some people have received interviews from UTSW and Baylor
 
got an invite from UT-Houston today (9/28) via email
 
got interviews to UT-Houston and Baylor... still waiting on UTSW.

As you can probably tell from my handle, I am planning on going to a residency program in Texas. I was wondering if those of you getting interviews at texas programs would post you USMLE Step results and class rank to give the rest of us applying next year a better idea of what it will take. thanks as always for the help.

I guess there are not any people on this entire forum with interviews in Texas that are willing to post their USMLE scores to help a third year out. Thanks in advance if anyone finds this post and remembers the doubts they had as a third year about what places they would probalby get interviews at. 👍 😀
 
My best friend from school had ~215 on Step 1 and got accepted to UTSW.
 
From the 2003-2004 interview season:

Step 1: 231
Step 2: 223

Invites:
UT-San Antonio
UT-Southwestern
Baylor

Those are the only ones in Texas I applied to. Hope this helps.

I was wondering if anyone that has received invites from Scott and White, UTSW, or UTMB (including BIOAGGIE) would mind posting their scores. Thanks for the help and good luck.
 
Invite from UTMB today via email. Upper half of class, 231 USMLE/595 COMLEX, DO Student.

Interview offer from UT-Houston 9/30 & UTMB-Galveston 10/5. Still waiting to hear from the other Texas programs.

I am applying next year. Any help would be appreciated. However, I thought it would be most helpful to see the scores fo people getting interviews at the schools I will be applying to (mainly Texas). As far as the jokes at my expense, I will probably change my handle if we lose to those dreaded sooners again next year.

hey, I know we talked before. Well, I didn't do so hot on Step 2, but the programs don't know that yet. With my Step 1 score of 220, I have received interviews from (in TX)
Baylor
UTMB
UT-Houston
San Antonio

I applied everywhere in TX minus Tech, which I think isn't even officially a program anymore.Either way, no way in hell I am living in El-Paso or Lubbock or wherever it is!

The Texas Tech-El Paso program has lost its accreditation, but the Tech-Lubbock program lives on. I'm almost looking forward to interviewing there. I haven't seen a good tumbleweed in awhile.

Tech in Lubbock has a good program. They also have one of the best pain fellowships in the world. THey take one in house resident a year for the felowship. The other is usually from a top 5 program (when I went to med school there they had a fellow from Stanford). Dr Kaye is awesome, and connected. I would recommend applying there.

Sorry to keep trying to keep this thread alive. Anyone else gotten any interviews in texas that would not mind sharing the programs and their scores. Thanks to all those that have already shared. It has been very helpful.
 
I finally got an interview offer from UTHSCSA yesterday. I'm glad to have the offer, but I'm slightly annoyed that they're not working me in for November, since I'm doing an Anesthesia rotation at UTHSCSA of all places in November. So I signed up for Dec. 4.

Anyone interested in trading a November interview date for Dec. 4? Please e-mail me and we can discuss specifics.

I am from upper midwest and very interested in Texas programs specifically at UTSW. I was wondering if my step I score of 239/97 (lets leave the whole package deal aside for now) will help me get interviews at most programs? Any program I should not expect from? Thanks

You should easily get interviews at all of the Texas programs. You have put yourself in a great position to command attention.

If you are interested in UTSW, do a 4th yr elective there. I did a visiting student rotation there and it was great. They have lectures every day and plenty of opportunities for procedures. Very good for an intro into anesthesiology.

Stop worrying...you score is awesome. Will tell you.... I got a 220 and got interviews at ALL TX programs...and for that matter, 17 out of the 20 programs I applied to. You'll be just fine!!
