Market in Austin, TX?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
This is true, the market is correcting...hospital pays 375-450/hr + travel etc for a locums...eventually get some bad locums/bad outcomes, surgeons go berserk and blame admin.
Although I disagree that it's a bad job, if it's 374k thats about 350/hr but that's consistent (ie no traveling, finding new gigs that can be annoying doing locums) but it all depends on the benefits. Having something consistent with adequate time off is the key, can go do locums for 400-550/hr (yes, that's still around if you know how to negotiate, unfortunately most people don't)
Hospitals really pay $500-550/hr for locums and the agency takes 30% cut of that

As for the 14 on/14 off. The nights are a premium pay/coverage unless they give u 2 crnas are night so you can sleep all night.

You want easy work, easy pay in this market. You don’t want to be over working yourself for what amounts to average pay and tied to employers rigid schedule.

So the devil is in the details

I dunno. 7a-7p sucks also if u doing 84 hrs a week.
Rather just do 3 (24) every other day etc get it over with.

But if it’s 7p-7a in house without crna that’s horrible deal. Need to find the details.
