Hi yall...this is similar to a previous thread...but I have a question.

I am doing an elective in Ophthalmology (March) to make sure it is the right field for me (pretty sure it will be)...given that I need to complete this rotation to do away rotations...is it really too late to start scheduling them? I thought away rotations would be in like July, Aug, Sept...?

any advice is more than welcome!!!

thanks

you should start to "apply" for away rotations now...
a lot of stuff needs to be done -

you'll need titers / a ppd / a letter from your school stating you're in good acadmic standing / and a seal from your registrar's office

DO NOT wait until after you have finished your march rotation. Even if you decide you don't want to go into Ophtho - you can still use all the prep you've done to schedule OTHER away electives

google "visiting medical student" at school xyz to pull up the application/medical clearance for most schools
