Pupster, I know this is completely unrelated to this thread, but I just wanted to say that I recently acquired a 2 month old puppy that looks exactly like your new avatar!! Do you own one yourself??

What if Pupster had a puppy named Violin? That'd be spooky... 😀
ChocolateBear I know I already posted this in another thread and since you're a mod now you can go back and delete it, LOL. BUT I JUST HAVE TO SAY (AGAIN) THAT I LOVE YOUR NEW AVATAR IT'S AWESOME!!!
If I saw that, I probably would've just gone. I've learned a lot about visiting other schools. LECOM also surprised me a bit, even though I knew what to expect going in
I included my GPA and my MCAT score on my resume...is that a problem?
I included them and had no problem.
December 15th is the day specified online, although I've heard that some places will grant extensions. Usually these other schools don't give you till December in the first place though so that might be part of why they allow that.
Where did you see the Dec. 15th deadline on the site? Also, have you seen a way to pay the deposit online?😕
Login. All the info is there, under Matriculation/Payment and Accepted Student Checklist in the top left.
Trust me CB..I've been there but I just don't see the Dec 15th date anywhere.😕 Even on the checklist page the due date space is blank.
I just called the admissions office and was told the payment info will be in the acceptance letter/package.
Oh, okay. Sounds like your page hasn't been updated yet. Do you see a matriculation agreement when you login?
Yup. I even agreed to the agreement on the 9th. It's okay.. I'll just wait for the letter. No hurry.😀
Weird. Anyway, you should see Due Date--12/15/2008 under Matriculation Agreement on the checklist page. The $1000 can be paid by credit card or eCheck (for no additional fee, it looks like).
Okay, cool. Just wanted to know the date for sure and the method of payment. thanks👍
Hey hey just wanted to see if anyone else will be interviewing this Friday. Can a current AZCOM student tell me how much travel is involved during your 3rd/4th years? How many cadavers does the class of 250 share?
I just interviewed there last week and was told that there are 25 cadavers. Each cadaver had 3 assigned groups with ~3 people in each group. The groups each dissect once per week. On the days that your group isn't dissecting you are supposed to go into lab and see what the other groups worked on.
I guess I should know how many cadavers we have but I don't remember exactly how many tables we have. We do have a class of 250. Anatomy lab is once a week for each group. We are divided into Group I and Group II and also into Groups A, B and C. So last week we met in our number groups and there was six people at our table. This week we meet in our letter groups so there will be four of us at our table. If anyone has any other questions about anatomy lab just let me know. I don't know anything about an increase in the number of cadavers for next year though.
I'd imagine there will be more due to the additional gross anatomy lab being built.....
Thanks for the clarity! From what we were told, I got the impression that c/o 2013 would be the terminal class increase, but apparently it's already that size.
It was said that there was going to be a slight increase in cadaver number. However, perhaps the person who said that was misinformed because it seemed like the increase was due to the class size increase. If it's already at 250, then I see no immediate need for more cadavers, unless they just thought it would be better if there were more.
Oh well.

During orientation we were repeatedly referred to as a class of 250 and during OMM quizzes, if I remember correctly, we have pretty close to 250 submitting answers. I could be off my rocker though so I guess if they told you we aren't at 250 yet then maybe we aren't. Remember that AZPOD students are also in anatomy with us.
Is that to add space or replace the old one?
Hey sorry I haven't gotten back to you yet. Here's a belated congratulations!!I wasn't on campus the day you interviewed because I was sick but we do have several SDNers you probably saw on campus. If you have any questions about the school feel free to let me know. 😀
Has anyone actually received anything in the mail yet for an acceptance?
I really liked the campus and the facilities that they have...though there is no 24-hour study area?
hoping for some great news in a few weeks - please please please, it's on the top of my short list!
My understanding is the student lounge (and I think also the cafeteria) is open 24/7 (with a swipe of your badge) for study.
Why would you want to study for 24 hours though? That is just silly. Get some sleep and you'll do better on that exam! 😉
That and you will not be sleeping through class or skipping it to catch up on missed sleep. I see a lot of my colleagues already falling into this trap.
Your avatar is adorable!! Is that your baby? 🙂
They told us they had X amount right now, and our class would have X + a few. Is that what they said to you? Does 25 = X or 25 = X + a few?
If it's already at 250, then I see no immediate need for more cadavers, unless they just thought it would be better if there were more.
I think it would be better if there were more cadavers. It's crazy that this years class has 3-groups of 4-6 people in each group working on a single cadaver. You would barely get any dissection time. Even nine people on one body is alot.
I wonder when I'll get my rejection letter. I'm kind of surprised I got rejected from there. I probably wouldn't have gone anyway, but still surprised. I did like the area and had some fun though.
My impression was that 25 = X. They probably want to keep the groups at a consistent 3 people. If this is the case than 25 cadavers would require 225 to man. So, 'a few' is probably the remainder of the difference between 250 (max class) and 225 (what they consider the bottom line class size of 25), divided by 9. 25/9 = 2.78 ~= 3. I would expect anywhere from 25-28 cadavers.

I mostly agree. However, there are some pros to having less dissection time.
Any current students want to tell us how they feel about having so many students per body? Pros/Cons?
