Here is a message from the Dean of Podiatric Medicine at Midwestern University (Azpod). This is in response to some concerns of the attrition rate at Azpod:

"I believe it is significant to know that we lost only one member of the Class of 2012 to academic reasons and one additional student transferred to dental school. In the class of 2013 we have to date not lost anyone to academic difficulty, but one student took a leave of absence due to serious health problems of his spouse. The Class of 2011 took its lumps, but that caused us to make a number of changes that have improved the academic strength of new matriculants and that have been helpful in keeping students in school."

The half dozen or so AZPod students I met on clerk rotations last year were all bright and hardworking for the most part, and I've heard the early graduates have been doing pretty well in match. Midwestern Pod seems to have all the makings of a quality program IMO. 👍

I would hope not.^^ C/o 2013 hasn't even had their first final exams yet... maybe not even midterms yet 🙂

Your hope is right on, but the history is losing student 1st quarter. In Azpods first years, the only time they lost people WAS the first quarter. If you made it through that quarter, you were golden.

It is good to see the retention is now where it should be.

i'm curious to find out exactly what happened for azpods first class. the rumors i heard were half of the class dropped out.

if that is the case, what happened????
