So I have a 3.83 cGPA and a 3.87 sGPA. I'm currently in an analytical chem course to finish my chem minor however the professor is an extremely hard grader.

The first few lab reports were not weighted heavily and were graded very lightly however, the last 5 are worth ~35% of the course grade. The professor graded these all at once and was very harsh resulting in very low scores for most of the class.

It looks like I will only be able to get a B/B+ in the course which obviously would have a negative impact on my cGPA and sGPA. My question is, should I take the B/B+ and / or retake the class? Or should I take a W and retake the course.

Now that I know how the professor grades and have a general understanding of the material, I am confident that I can get an A in the course if I were to retake it next spring.

Because MD schools typically average the two scores when calculating GPA unless one of them is a W I feel like I might be better off withdrawing from the course and retaking it, as opposed to just taking the B/B+ and / or retaking the course. This would be my first and only W on my transcript. What do you guys think?
