Try ebay / half.com also, if you're willing to wait you might find it WAY WAY cheaper lightly used.

It's one of my "desert island" medical books along with the Merck Manual and Surgery recall. If you have access to those three books you can understand anything / everything in medicine....ANYTHING! 😱

So it seems like there is a basic review of pathology by Kumar and their is also pocket companion, does anyone know what the differences are, and which one would be better to use with my courses and board study.

Basic is called Intermediate Robbins. It has alot more info than Baby (the Pocket Companion).

I love Baby Robbins. It's a great book, I use it to review. I'm one of those rare individuals that actually reads Big Robbins as well, though. I don't know if just reading Baby would be enough to do well on the test (since our school requires reading Big Robbins) but I guess I'll find out after the first exam.

The Review of Pathology by Klatt and Kumar is a book consisting of only questions(with answers) related to each chapter out of the big robbins. The pocket Robbins is a condensed(high yield) version of the big robbins.

Also the reason the pocket robbins is hard to come by now is the publisher completely sold out and are currently on backorder as they produce more. So, they are hard to find anywhere. That's the word from my med school bookstore.
