I had been a computer science major and this semester was supposed to be my last semester. However, I realized that I can't take it anymore, so now I am taking chemistry and biology classes instead. I found out that I really love science classes and really want to be a dentist now. However, some says that I need to graduate 4 year college means I need a baccalaureate degree. Is it true? I am planning to go to community college and take all the required classes and apply to dental school from community college. I just wonder if I can do that. Is there anybody knows about this?

Also, if I have to have baccalaureate degree, do I must have a major?--I heard that a student can greaduate as what is called "general". If I can graduate 4year college as "general", can I apply dental schools?

I am not sure about the major part, but you can apply without graduating from college. Go to the schools' webpages and check. One thing I am sure is that many schools don't allowe u to take all the required classes at a community college.

Thanks for your info. I already finished all of my higher math. and physics..so I wouldn't worry about the second part. I went to school websites, and most of them say that people who have a baccalaureate degree will be considered ahead of the people who don't. What I want to know is if it is true. Have you guys actully seen anybody got in any dental school without a baccalaureate degree?(I mean that this person won't have a baccalaureate degree later on either)

yep, I have. One of my classmates went to dental school this year. She did not graduate from college. She only finished 3 years. Don't worry too much. 🙂
