Hello everyone I went to visit de sales university.

I swapped my computer science degree at CC to gen Ed’s to get into biology bachelors pre med is this a good idea ?

I just want to focus on mcat stuff.

They told me I can minor in computer science should I do it ?

Well, would you rather study computer science or biology? The choice is yours--it doesn't matter for medical school admissions so long as you complete the prerequisite coursework. The CS degree would provide a valuable fall back skillset should you change your mind about pursuing medical school. Perhaps you could major in CS and minor in biology?

Keep in mind that a statistical majority of people who apply to med school won’t get in. If you can manage the CS degree, it would give you something to fall back on if this were the case

CS is great but it can tank your GPA. I know people who studied CS who would have run circles around me in my biochem major but their GPA doesn’t reflect that. Weigh the value of having a back up plan with the potential damage to your application a lower, or even slightly lower GPA can cause.
