I was wondering whose schools here offer a neuroscience type major instead of just a B.S. in psychology? And, if you are in the prog. would you mind listing what courses, besides the core, are the major requirements? Thanks.

Emory

"neuroscience and behavioral biology"

UF offers an IDS Neuroscience major, it is basically a psych degree heavy in the physiological psych classes and a senior thesis involving research in Neuroscience.

i bet you're just saying that cuz you went there. 😛 i'm actually right across the hall from the comp. memory lab now!

yeah brandeis is something of a sleeper; its got some really top notch people, particularly in computational neuroscience. it isnt an exaggeration to say those guys wrote the book on comp. neuro.

BRANDEIS UNIVERSITY!!!

I got my B.S. and M.S. in Neuroscience from Brandeis. AWESOME Neuroscience faculty all-around - Neurobiology and Neuropsychology. Definitely reccomend checking out the Volen Center..... http://www.bio.brandeis.edu/volen/

Nice place.....good for doing research and getting published...aaaaand the Neuro was VERY helpful for Neuroanatomy and Neurophysiology in med school.

....but I guess I'm biased. Do ya think? 🙂

Good luck,

care

University of Pittsburgh has a good neuroscience BS program.

Amherst College offers a BA in neuroscience.

UC Davis - B.S. in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior.

It is common to for NPB majors to double with psych since some of the classes are so integrated.

Brown does also - one of the only good things about the school. The professors are awesome and they real focus on the undergrads.
