Hey, so I was recently accepted to medical school! At the end of the interview, they mentioned that they do very intense background checks, and want us to disclose things like speeding tickets and gave an example of needing to disclose having your permit revoked at 16 otherwise they can rescind their offer (not the best way to end an interview and def lowered it on my ranking a little). They also went on to say "if you were ever in court, we need to know about it" which I thought was ridiculous.

Anywho, my name is on a police report and I had a university investigation done. No charges were pressed at the end of the day (at least I'm pretty sure no charges, how do i check) and no disciplinary actions (this was over a year ago at this point). I also had some university no-contact orders (these are different than a restraining order, in the sense that both parties have to agree that its what they want and its only at the university level). I know that I'm downplaying it, and I'm not really concerned with other medical schools, however, this school is connected to my alma mater (just a different campus) and I'm worried they might have information more in-depth (say looking into the records of the investigation or something).

Should I contact the school? What should I do?
Congrats on the acceptance.

The school sounds super intense, but it is what it is. You should disclose this information as you've described. There is a reason for all of these and you need to be upfront but also ensure you state how you've grown from the incidents and what you've done to prevent repeat actions form occurring.

Unfortunately, IMO they are being a little over the top here...but it is their medical school and you are the applicant. Just disclose and explain how you said it to us here. What would be worse is you NOT disclosing and them finding out and you losing your acceptance and then not having a shot at the other schools you may have gotten acceptances at.
