Hi, guys! I really need your help! I have 1 speeding ticket around three years ago (my only speeding ticket) in Iowa, I was driving from another state to Iowa and got lost. I was pulled over for driving about 10 miles over the speed limit on the highway and paid the fine. Since then, I become very careful and have never made the same mistake again. When I applied to med school, I didn't report any misdemeanor after talking to a lawyer who assured me that traffic violation was not counted as a criminal offense. However, I recently noticed that In IOWA, any speeding tickets count as a simple misdemeanor! I am really disorientated now and really freaked out! My background check has not been completed, should I contact schools about this incident? Or should I wait for my background check to be complete? Please help! I don't want to appear as dishonest!
