Background for ERAS picture?

Hello, I was just wondering if anyone knows whether the ERAS picture background has to be white? Can you have a blue or gray background?

A ton of my classmates are jumping on this trend of having greenery/a wall of leaves as the background. Idk how I feel about it yet. It looks very nice, but it seems kind of band-wagon-y

Use something lighter and professional. That's really the only requirement. At some rank meetings they have your picture up on the projector so if you look derpy it'll be very obvious. Clearly nobody should rank based on how somebody looks but there's a whole body of evidence showing that appearances contribute to cognitive biases.
