Probably not, since it wasn't a prerequisite class. But I am assuming that you did the cytology program to prove that you could handle graduate-level science classes, right? If you haven't already, you might want to consider studying your butt off so you can pass the cytology licensing exam, if there is one. That way you can show that you really can master the material. It's not like dentists have to diagnose disease on a cellular level, but the visual skills that allow you to do this should be there.
I'm not trying to be mean, by the way. I have a 3.0 and got a D in Biochem (a prerequisite class) and did not get accepted last year. I'm starting a 2-year master's program in cytopathology in a week. I think I will enjoy being a cytotechnologist, but obviously I'm still visiting the pre-dental board, so who knows...? Ultimately, if I got a D in my program, not only would I not be able to move on to the next semester, but since I'm really out to prove myself, I would feel like I still hadn't achieved that.
