Hi guys,

My university scheduled the ochem 2 lab recitation (quiz block) classes during the same time as another one of my required BME courses.

The BME course is required to graduate (4000 level structures class) and is only offered in the Spring. It will probably conflict with classes for next year (senior year).

I will have taken ochem 1 lecture, lab, and be taking ochem 2 lecture during the next semester. My university had both of these classes on the syllabus for what we should be taking, there was no way I could have known this last spring.

I am going to be studying for the MCAT's during the Spring. Is ochem 2 lab really required for the MCAT's?

Thanks

In my opinion, no. But make sure you plan to take it eventually as it is required at most medical schools. 🙂 Scheduling is a such a pain!

No. You are MUCH better off grabbing an Ochem review book from Princeton and reading it. Then get Berkeley and do the crap out of their passages. I would free up as much of my life as possible for the MCAT too, and at least at my school Ochem lab took up like 6 hours of my life each week. Way too much during MCAT prep. If it were me, I would be taking the bare minimum and devote 500 hours of prep to the MCAT. I cannot overstate its importance.
