Long time lurker on this site!
Currently a Junior going into my second semester, going into fall semester I had a 3.93 but three member of my family unfortunately pass away during the course of this semester my GPA dropped to a 3.76 and I'm freaking out and need advice about my next steps. I don't think i put my all into this semester and never really found my groove when it came to studying.
A little info about me
I am a female URM (African, but born and raised in America)
125 volunteer hours in a clinic for the underserved patient
40 hours shadowing (transplant surgeon and primary care)

Any advice would help thank you guys!! @Goro @LizzyM @gonnif @gyngyn

Very sorry to hear of your losses...but you're still in very fine shape academically!

Do you guys think I need to do more with extracurriculars? I just started research with two professors this semesters as well. I also plan on taking a gap year

OP, I am very sorry to hear about that, I can't imagine one family tragedy, let alone 3. I hope you're doing ok, and if you aren't, PM me if you'd like.
So 3.73, considering what you went through is immaculate. 3.73 is a fine semester GPA. You're good.

Thank you for your kind words unfortunately I made straight B’s and received a 3.00 and it dropped my GPA to 3.76

Ok so I misread that, I'm so sorry I'm pretty tired I just took a practice NBME IM shelf.
You had 3 family tragedies and your GPA is still pretty high. You can explain it in interviews and in your application.

Some service to others less fortunate than yourself would be nice, and/or just continue with the clinical work. I see no need for a gap year.
