Is BaF2 soluble? I came across a question in the answer choices of Topscore with this equation:

2NaF (aq) + Ba(NO3)2 (aq) --> 2NaNO3 (aq) + BaF2 (s)

I was under the impression that the only halides strictly under the solubility rules were Cl, Br, and I and that those are water soluble with the exception with Ca, Sr, Ba, and Pb.

Barium Flourides solubility constant is a number - e-7...so it's hardly soluble. as you note I see nothing about the flourides in any number of solubility summaries online or in books...so assume this is an "exercise" question that stimulates your mind to refresh yourself with solubility rules.

I doubt that anything not clearly stated in the solubility rules will be tested in the DAT
