I think I may have been overpaid today, as I received close to a $1500 payment that was listed on my LES as "BAQ-DIFF". Does Anyone know if HPSP students are entitled to BAH (BAQ) Diff while in school? I was under the impression (via military.com) that BAH Diff was only for servicemembers living in barracks but paying child support. and i definitely have 0 dependents.

I was at ODS this summer and thats the only time that I can think that I may have qualified for BAH (the 10 days after I left ODS).

I have been cautioned by instructors at ODS that if the military over-pays you, that you must wait several months before spending any money as they can garnish your wages for the over-payment. Has this happened to anyone in HPSP? I emailed the HPSP people and have yet to hear back.

Thanks much.

Were you paid BAH or BAHII during your ODS time?? When I did my 45 day ADT I was paid BAHII and then several months later I received an adjustment for the difference between BAH and BAHII. HPSP students now receive BAH instead of BAHII during their 45 day ADT's - however this does not kick in until after 30 days so they pay you the difference later.

This could be what the extra money is for - however I agree dont spend it until you find out for sure from the HPSP folks. Hope this helps.

The computer system will only pay you BAH II. You are owed BAH I. You get the difference after your AT.

Does this require any action on the part of the Soldier or do they automatically take care of it? I just got my first partial pay check and it said "BAH II" which by definition is for reservists serving for less than 30 days on active duty.

Thanks for your help.

I'm FAP and got the same payment. Turns out it was an error becuase my ADT was less than 30 days so I had to pay back over time (they spread it over a year). But, if your ADT is over 30 days then its yours.

do we get BAH for the zip code for our school address or for where we are rotating?
