KMnO4 + NH3 --> KNO3 + MnO2 + KOH + H2O


How would I go about balancing this?
I know its a redox equation so you need to split it up. But Im not entirely sure how to split them up.


KMnO4 --> MNO2 and

NH3 --> KNO3 ? but then how do I balance out the K on the second half-reaction?

You must write down the ionized form of the compounds for half reactions:

MnO4- --> MnO2

NH3 --> NO3-
