The part of the brain that regulates heart rate is the
A. hypothalamus
B. cerebral cortex
C. cerebellum
D. pons
E. thalamus

I think hypothalamus is what regulates heart rate but the answer is D. pons.

A population of rabbits in hardy weinberg equilibrium, with 9 percent of the population homozygous recessive for the albino trait. The perent of the population that is heterozygous for the albino trait is
A.3
B.21
C.18
D.27
E.36

9% = 0.09 = homo recessive= q^2
q=0.3
p=0.7
heterozygous frequency = 2(0.3)(0.7) =0.42 = 42%
but answer is 21 and my answer, 42 is not even on the list.

can these be what ppl call the errors of Barron?

Yes, Barrons is full of errors, although theyre rather evident.

I think Barron bio is much harder than Kaplan blue book and DAT destroyer regardless of many errors. 🙁

I think the Medulla is largely responsible for controlling HR but the pons have something to do with it also. I got a similar question on one of my practice tests and the answer was Pons nd Medulla.

medulla agreed! pons acts a relay center between the cerebellum and the cerebral cortex.

that must mean pon can be the answer too and the answer key isn't wrong.
but if you have to choose one between medulla and pon, what would u choose?

medulla and pons are very closely related (in fact connected), leave it at that.
