Ugh what a bummer! What’s that timeline like? Going to apply anywhere else?
The official program deadline is Oct. 1. They said they'd rank applicants and waitlisters after that time. People can technically find out as late as December 1. I'm a little heartbroken because this is my #1 choice but I know there's still hope. I was just surprised because there are still plenty of seats and my stats are slightly above the averages of the previous cohorts. Not much I can do now but wait, follow up with the other school I applied to, and submit one more.

I wonder how they rank things.... well good luck! When I went to the lab immersion in December, someone had just gotten in.

So I completed my interview last Week & I’m having trouble sleeping because I’m so nervous. I see that everyone gets a call instead of an email. How long was the longest it’s taken to hear back from them?

19 days for me- I know I talked to some girls who interviewed at the beginning of August and just heard back. You're looking at 3 weeks or so most likely.

I was just got deferred too. Feeling the same as you since this was my first choice and this is my third time applying to schools. Keep that head up! Hopefully you will get some good news from another school.

Thanks, fingers crossed for you as well. What does "deferred" mean exactly? Did you get to interview?

Thank you! Very much needed. I unfortunately did not. I believe being deferred is along the lines of being wait listed, but it is more so of putting your application to the side so they can look at it later.

I feel like in this case waitlisted and deferred might mean the same thing (other than the fact that I did interview). I emailed Dr. U and he said they don't actually rank the wait list which I'm a bit confused about. I asked for clarification about how that works but didn't get a response. Maybe everyone just goes back into the same pool?

I applied back in May. However, i had to retake A&P 1 due to the class being over 5 years old. I finished that class in August. In addition to retaking Physics 2, Gen Chem 1, stats and a psych class since last year's app. I also tested for a second time for the GRE.... I made a slight improvement. I made more improvemens in prerequisite coursework. My prerequisite GPA is at 3.5 whereas as last year it was a 3.1. That landed me an interview last year... hoping I get another shot for an interview. The strongest part of my app is the experience I have gained through working as a rehab tech which I have done for 5 years now.

That is a bit confusing. Now I wonder how they actually evaluate those they defer since they don't rank applicants. That is what I am thinking too. Do you know if Baylor evaluates applicants with a holistic approach? I did not see anything that would point to such an approach.

Best of luck to you! There should be no doubt that you will be granted an interview at the least. I would be surprised if they did not. I retook a physics course and a psych course before starting the applications which had raised my pre req gpa to a better level than where I was prior. I am thinking that I should have retook my chem series since I did not do well in those course. I was deferred by Baylor last year as well and am hoping to be granted an interview this year. But we will see if that happens.

I'm gonna be honest and say I don't even know what holistic means anymore in the context of PT admissions, lol. I feel like it's just a tactic to get more people to apply.

Hey, thanks! Good luck to you too! It's tough to say that I think I should because you just never know. As to the reply above me.... Holistic approach is a tactic to get the most applicants possible to apply. The programs are all over social media promoting their program. I don't blame them at all as they are newer. I have talked to the committee countless times and it's all about GPAs and GREs. I think it's a bit disappointing because experience should speak for itself.

Sent my application in about a month ago. They have received my application and moved it forward. Anyone been invited to interview lately?

I do know that they have had some lab immersions for the past two weeks. My guess is they haven't had the time to sit down and review just yet. We should start hearing something in the next week or two.

I had emailed Amanda Singh about the timeline and she said late October/early November.

I submitted my interview on Oct 1st and have not heard back. Wondering about if anyone else has heard back?

I am still waiting to hear if I get an interview invite. When did you submit your application and when were you offered an interview?

27 seats left... It's getting close. Good luck to you all. I hope to be classmates this upcoming year
26 seats left. Found that Facebook Page. Maybe a couple will decline in the end if they get an offer that is better for them.

For those that got to interview, but were waitlisted, would you mind sharing your stats?

I was waitlisted. 3.5 (last 60 credits), 3.7 pGPA, 150/157/4.0 GRE

I was offered admission to their sister program (South College) and have accepted a seat with them. I was really holding out for Baylor before because of the close proximity to me but South ended up being cheaper even with travel costs factored in.

Just checking in to see if there are any updates. I am still waiting on an interview offer.

I was unfortunately declined. Luckily I have 4 more interviews coming up! Best of luck to everyone 🙂)
