Yes, I'm a 2nd year resident at the IU program. I definately think it is worth checking out. We have a good group of residents and faculty as well as exposure to a wide variety of specimens from 5 different hospitals. There are some big names in GU path here as well. Research opportunities are definately here if you want them but there is no pressure to do research if you are not interested. I feel like the program is the right mix of laid back and "hardcore" (for lack of a better word). In other words, you won't be here grossing until midnight but you can't coast through the program either.
In addition, we have good benefits (free health insurance for the resident and his or her family, free garage parking, etc) as well as a very generous book fund ($1500 first year, $1000 second year plus $1500 for a computer and something around $1250 third year with the same amount for fourth year). Also, the city of Indianapolis is a great place to live; there's lots to do and the cost of living is low relative to other major cities.
Those are just some general things off the top of my head. Feel free to ask specific questions via this thread or by PM.
