Hello! I have been fortunate to be accepted to BCOM and COMP-NW. Deposit deadline for BCOM is 2/15. Interview for PNWU in March.

BCOM:
Pros:
-border town- ideal location (want to be Spanish English bilingual provider)
-~20% diverse class
-slightly cheaper 57k
-sunny
-large town, near El Paso
-sim lab, nice facility
-rotations in SW

Cons:
-only graduated one class
-below national average licensure (improving over classes)
-unclear match rate percentages (but did match 17 emergency med -my interest)
-big move (23 hours)

COMP-NW:
Pros:
-western Pomona established 40 years, this campus is newer
-on par national average licensure pass rates
-great residency matching
-friends in Portland
-shorter move (1.5 hours)

Cons:
-small town 17k
-slightly
-poor weather
-no diversity
-no desire to practice in PNW
-literally one building
-no sim lab

I am torn between a location and environment that I want to be in at a new risky school versus a location and environment I don’t want to be in at an established school. Will I be able to pass my licensure exams and match EM at BCOM? Is settling for an environment I don’t want to be in worth attending a more for sure school at COMP-NW? Thank you in advance for your input!

Your cons for BCOM seem more significant than your cons for WesternU. I think WesternU would give you more flexibility in matching but BCOM is not a bad option either imo.
